Roland has announced the availability of their GO:KEYS and GO:PIANO, announced earlier this year at the CES show in Las Vegas, and described as the portable musical keyboard series that introduces an affordable new concept for making music and learning to play. Here's the story in their own words...

The GO:KEYS Music Creation Keyboard (GO-61K) offers options for beginning musicians who want to create music with no formal training, and the GO:PIANO Digital Piano (GO-61PC) is a complete solution for those who wish to learn to play the piano with no prior experience. Along with the Roland GO:MIXER Audio Mixer for Smartphones, the new musical keyboards are part of Roland's GO:SERIES of products, which makes it easy to create or capture life's musical moments.

The portable, battery-powered GO:KEYS offers music-making possibilities for those interested in creating their own music but have not learned to play piano notes or chords, or even read music. Its unique design offers one-touch operation with a "Loop Mix" feature, in which different instrument patterns are assigned to a range of keys on the keyboard. A simple key-press creates a musical pattern that can be combined with others to create custom grooves while intuitive touch pads enable the sounds to be easily manipulated in real time. Bluetooth® connectivity to smartphones or tablets lets users jam with their favorite music or record songs using music creation apps. The GO:KEYS contains more than 500 high-quality sounds. A touch panel and backlit LCD makes it easy to select the perfect sound and musical genre. Built-in speakers and headphones jack offer on-the-go sound anywhere.

The battery-powered GO:PIANO features 61 full-size piano-style keys and high-quality sound derived from Roland's professional digital piano models, all in a complete, affordable package designed for beginners of any age. Bluetooth allows seamless connectivity with smartphones or tablets for jamming with favorite music, watching instructional videos, playing along with music apps, and more. Included are authentic piano sounds, plus a variety of instrument sounds such as organs, strings, and more. Sound selection is quick and convenient via a touch panel and backlit LCD. The GO:PIANO also offers onboard practice features, a sustain pedal, headphones jack for private playing, and a built-in speaker system.

The GO:PIANO comes with an education bundle that contains everything needed to get started, including a lesson book and built-in songs from the best-selling Faber Piano Adventures®. Open the box, practice with the lesson book, play along with the companion songs, and connect via Bluetooth to the free Piano Adventures Player app for interactive learning at any pace. Also included: an exclusive web page with support resources, discounts on additional books, and even a teacher locator, to make learning fun and easy for both beginners and those starting to play again.

Both new instruments and their onboard sounds are derived from Roland professional synthesizers and pianos, so they promise an easy transition to Roland models with more advanced feature sets as playing skills improve. A first for their price point, both models in the series also offer Bluetooth connectivity for added musical and learning possibilities.

Pricing and Availability:
The GO:KEYS is available for a U.S. Street price of $299, and GO:PIANO is available for a U.S. Street price of $329 with education bundle. GO:MIXER is available for a U.S. Street price of $99.
