808 Day - Roland Release New TR-08 Boutique 808

Boutique form factor ACB TR-08      08/08/17

Buying Choices

Bit of a bombshell, but fitting as today is 808 day, that Roland release an 808 reissue. The TR-08 (not to be confused with the TR-8) follows the Boutique form factor which we must say does rather fit the 808 design quite nicely.

Featuring the classic 808 interface, with an additional compressor, gain tune and pan for selected instruments. assignable trigger output, 10 audio outs via USB (stereo analog out only).

We'd love to say that in the wake of the SE-02, the TR-08 also features analog circuitry, but as it doesn't say in the product pages, we must assume that this is ACB technology as found in the  TR-8. Essentially a re-casing of the 808 aspects of the first AIRA drum machine perhaps?
