Because USB 2.0 is newer, more available as standard kit, thinner, FASTER (moves smaller packets of data much faster, end result is more stable long term use) and has less issues sending buss power... Not to mention far less issues with chipset compatibility.

Does this utilize the same idea behind the Fireface UC, where there is a dual transfer firmware in the unit that fully takes advantage of either the Windows or Mac OS it's connected to?
