Great review Nick!I thought it's class compliant, I can use it with my iPad2 without any additional drivers, just with a powered USB hub.

And Nick, in the text when you say 36ms and 256ms i guess you're meaning samples. 256ms latency is huge, but 256 samples@96Khz is very low, should be enough for anyone ;)

Nick. Nice review as always. I noticed that the gain was pretty maxed out for the ribbon mic as they usually need a lot of headroom similar to the Shure SM7B. Have you ever considered using a Cloudlifter CL-1 pre-preamp? I don't own one but I hear great things about it.

Nick, Thanks for a great review. One question from a newbie....

If I plug in an XLR mic to the Scarlett, then the USB cable into my Mac laptop... and then want to record a Skype call & monitor both sides of the conversation on my headphones during the conversation... is that possible? Will the headphone jack on my Mac output both sides of conversation?

(I don't imagine the headphone jack on the Scarlett would pick up the voice via Skype.) Thanks in advance for your help. Alan
