Some of those soundcloud samples sound like infected mushroom.

It does sound analog. One has to wonder perhaps whether they will follow every other manufacturer on the planet, and release yet another hunk of plasticky crap to the masses. I hope not, but then, I have little hope anymore of anyone releasing anything truly innovative.

I'm sticking with my software synth. It rocks.

nsert into news_comment (frn_newsid,anon_name,news_comment,time_in,ip_address,randnum,isactive) values(19823,'Axial6','SS, do not give up hope. A small called Quantum 9 (or something like that) is working on a mother of all VA synths.

Someone posted the data on KVR and a pic. It is not vaporware mind you.

Here is the information from the promotional material.

*Analogue Computational Simulation Synthesizer *3 SHARC DSP 32Bit Floating Point – 80Bit Fixed Point Operation *Operating Sampling Frequency @ 192khz *Multi LCD Screens with Graphical Data Representation *Tactile Controls for Each LCD Field – NO SUBMENUS *Over 54 Potentiometers/Encoders, 3 Dynamic Modulation Surfaces *1 x 4” x 14” High Res. Touch Screen LCD – 2 x 2” x 14” High Res. LCD Screen *30 Filter Types, EQ and Compression *FX, Modulation Matrix, Arpeggiator Complex Filter Modulation *18 to 30 Voices, 6 - 9 Part Multitimbral - FireWire - USB - Full Midi Implementation *6 Outputs – 2 Inputs for External Sound Modulation *All Anodised Alumuinium Construction *The simplest synthesizer you will ever use in your life. Period.

The pics looked amazing, this is what every synth maker should be pushing, not this retro crap.

I like NI''s idea, I just wish it was HW.

As far as the pics in the video:

Reaktor nodes with connections? The letter M? Advanced sound algorithms explained in their graphical and mathematical glory? Panels shapes flashing back and forth?

I really don't know what it all means. I just hope it means NI finally releases a new REAKTOR. It has been 7 years! I do remember seeing a really old posting online that said Reaktor 6 was going to be "Lego-esque" and much simpler to utilize.

However, "One synth to rule them all"? Sometimes the language of the promotion can tell you more about what they are releasing than the pics.

Maybe it is not just Reaktor. What if NI has come up with a way to Reaktorize all of their other synthesizers, too? (Probably too good to be true, but who knows?)

Also, NI's soundcloud page seems to be missing today...

Another thought,

Is there anyone on this forum that is a math and/or science wiz that can tell us what those formulas and graphs mean?

Maybe then we can understand what this synth is, unless NI's soundcloud page missing means this synth will soon be released...

Wow. Holy wow. As in -- holy what a waste of my time...

I hate to be so negative. I like N.I. I believe that they create a lot of great stuff. But this? This is crap.

Crappy. Craptastic. Craptacular.

Even MORE 100% B.S. from the Reaktor "experts." If you want to create real sounds that nobody else can create, why not just BUY Reaktor -- and learn how to program all of that "low-level" Reaktor core stuff yourself?

Look -- I'm not saying that everyone should DO that. I have no desire myself. At some point, you need to ask a question: Is what I'm buying something that one COULD potentially do on one's own? Or am I shelling out my hard-earned cash for yet another "me too!" product?

In this case, this is SUCH a me-too product. If you care deeply about having a "fiber-rich" analog synth, buy an analog synth. This is just more rehash that nobody needs, a lot of people want, and a lot of people won't be able to use to create the next generation of sound.

Have fun! Now we return to our regularly-scheduled monolithic craptitudinal crap...

(Sorry. I had a bad weekend. Sue me.)
