Ok...wait...what? 22 grand? I hate to whine about the cost of things, but I'm going to anyway; while I love expensive guitars, this would be impossible to justify. I love Harrison as much as anyone else, and partially respect Clapton's pentatonic noodling...but blowing 22 grand on a Gibson?

OK, let's put this into perspective, considering that the average price for a Les Paul is around 2 grand. In comparison, would you spend 11 grand on an iPhone that was painted red and had a famous someone's (widow's) approval? How about 3000 for a guitar strap? 1000 for a red plectrum? (If you answered yes to any of these, please let me know because I have a nice big bowl of funny colored water to sell you…;)

Yes, it looks like a nice guitar...(another Les Paul...), and somewhere at the end of a long white and dusty line of coke (with a vague hint of coconut?), someone at Gibson believes that this would be a worthwhile product to throw out into the market. Ironically, Clapton is probably the one living guitarist who would be able to justify spending this much on a LP...but has probably already received it as a gift anyway...?

What would Harrison say? (and what would Les Paul say...?)

It's just another example of some companies (and people) squeezing what they can out of past glory, rather than trying to evolve and contribute to the world.

I agree w/Bob. Yes, it is a Beautiful guitar and the original guitar has a wonderful history of a very unique friendship...That being said, it's way too expensive!! By the way, my son (who is 10) plays guitar and that would be a great gift--but not for that price! Finally, my Grandmother's name is Lucy!
