Hum the board is all SMD. Therefore, the workshop would be maybe to solder 2-3 pots, the keyboard switch and then assemble the whole thing in the case. But the matrix thing on top in interesting, maybe customized routing or such. Meeeh. As a synth freak who solder DIY kits, this leaves me hungry.

Well, there are at least 20 test points (labeled TP1..) on the board plus a series of "JMP" points which are no doubt 'normalled' if they are bound/jumped and open for use if not. Also a missing pot (VR9) for something else (??) and of course the pads on the top.

I like the idea of insetting a microprocessor on the board of the unit and usb control over some of the circuitry, basically turning it into a hybrid synth! I'm also wondering if it could be hacked to include an on board sequencer with presets and or program save of certain parameters > _ < if your into that sort of thing….

The SMD devices, yes, were already attached, and there were just under 200 soldering points to be attached. Not that hard, but lots of in/out access points and a strong encouragement to hack. Better than what I had last week ...

Werkstatt sounds like Baustelle.

The moog Minitaur Editor eats 25% CPU (Win7 i5) The result is an overheating CPU.

Moog should Fix that before they release the next one.

Just saw on Nova Musik web site, they are taking pre-orders for Moog Werkstatt 01 kit for $329, so I guess that answers the question.
