Does that still have that useless Arturia delay, I mean, the one with not-so-flexible (i.e. French) delay time parameters?

i have no sound here, but just looking at the shitty plastics used...

commercial toyish 'hardware' synth fot kids with to much money. what serious musician will want to use that in his studio????

The hardware design is very pretty. Bad demo on many levels. If Arturia did some tricks like add a nigh high end pre to the outputs (like the Focusrite Liquid Channel) then it could useful... I have not read anywhere that they did that so I'm worried it will sound too much like the software versions which for $199 are ok but not at the price they are asking for the Origin.

yipes ...€2900 sounds like a lot for software with a MIDI controller bolted on...

Maybe it sounds better in person. I the idea but for that kind of money I'd just get an Analogue. It wouldn't have the polyphony but I'm a ham fisted synth nerd anyways so....

I completely agree that this was a bad demo. I can tweak a filter, or make up a step sequence with my JV-30 for goodness sake... But I do like the product because of the modular concept. What if I wanted a nice pad from the 2600, but with a really lush filter..? No problem, I would load up the pad sound and call on a filter from the MiniMoog. This is a great machine, a little pricey, but still, far better beyond any Nord Wave, Creamware or any other modeled analog I can think of...

An astonishingly inept demo, indeed. Doesn't really make me want to investigate the Arturia Origin any further...

They should call it the Arturia SUX.

Wow. A lot of hate in the comments. :) In any event, the idea of this synth is really what I'm looking for at the moment. Can't wait to hear some demos.

I love these guys getting hired to represent their products- all style but no substance. He can't play keyboards, can't speak well, and doesn't know how to sell a product. But he's soooo cool!! Arturia is so out of touch.

Ok, is it just me or does anyone else think there is no point to this keyboard? I mean 3 and a half grand, come on

UN oven, if you think the demo guy sucks, why don't you demo it, smartass? I would like to see your face. Its like the Youtube losers who make fun of others but these are the ones who NEVER have their own video to boot!

This presenter's demo is way better than the Jazz crap I hear with synth leads all the time.

Dude the demo is shit. This guy gets paid to make appealing demos and he ums, aaahhs and cools his way through it.

This is not a YouTube video this is a corporate presentation from an internationally known company not some circuit bender out in his back shed bending a furby...

This is a crap demo of what looked interesting but now just looks dull.

I agree this video demo was crap. Looking forward seeing a real demo.

And what about that steppy filter?

VC State Variable Multimode    Said...

Yeah! I can detune some oscillators, and over do the white noise thru a delay on a netbook running fruityloops for 200 bucks. So what? VA sucks. And this product proves it, by not only sounding watery, indirect, and absolutely uninspiring but selling it like it's actually got something going on under the hood. So which is it "real analog" or DSP? This is a boring digital synth that can't even do anything unique to digital. All pose.

Dave    Said...

There's nothing in this demo that a free plugin cannot do. For the money Arturia are asking for this, you can get a top of the range VA and a real analog to go with it - e.g. Virus Ti2 and a Studio Electronics ATC-Xi.
