I adore Jazzmasters, and to some extent Sonic Youth. But I don't know how I feel about these signature series offerings. While the specs usually seem decent, the guitar's association with a legacy-rock brand (even respected Indie) seems weird. You'd have to be a superfan to care. (Like that Cobain Jag-Stang thing, etc. Or those awful Zack Wylde concentric circle soldibodies.)

Didn't The Ventures have their own guitar that the B52's played on their debut album? They should release a B52 signature Ventures guitar.
