US amp company AXL has come up with something that will appeal to all guitarists who like to make music on the move. The Thin Amp is a portable battery powered amp (with power and car adapter) that is only 2 inches (51mm) thick and weighs in at just over 5 lbs (2kg). Built into a solid yet lightweight ABS shell, the Thin Amp has a pair of tilt back legs that emerge from the casing at the flick of a switch and comes with its own shoulder bag style padded carrying case. The front panel controls are well laid out and easy to use and facilities include an onboard digital multi-fx processor with 16 different effects plus independent reverb, recording and headphone outputs and stereo in and out connections for external equipment.
