Amped Bitesize Review: Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb

New reverb types and stereo operation   11-Mar-13

    MP4 8:22 mins

We are reviewing a Boss pedal every day for a month in March, and today, on day 11, it's the turn of the Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb, with six of Boss's reverbs in a stereo pedal.

We're looking at 30 pedals this month, and then on the final day of March, we'll be doing a round up of our favourites. The idea being that you can quickly watch our bitesize reviews and make a quick decision on whether you like what you hear for each of Boss' compact pedals.

The Boss RV-5 Digital reverb is an update to the RV-3 with new gate and spring reverb algorithms

Rich's verdict - "A lot of fun, some of the reverbs work better than others, the modulate setting being a highlight for creative inspiration. But overall a good reverb pedal, if you want different reverbs in a utility pedal then this is the one. It won't offer you the expansive choices you get from bigger reverb units, and from popular rack units, but unless your entire sound is based around playing with reverb, then you won't need to fork out for that extra choice."

RRP - £119
