Arturia's synth modeling technology has given us a new breed of classic software synths, their Moog Modular V and 2600V took the plug-in community by Storm (another of their titles BTW) The latest plug, BRASS is a new kind of virtual instrument that reproduces the trumpet, saxophone and trombone in real time. It contains an extensive performance-based riff library which is entirely configurable and expandable. You can choose, create, import and modify riffs to match your needs. You can also play the modeled instruments directly with a keyboard and other realtime controls. BRASS is based on a new kind of physical modeling technology where all of the caracteristics of the real instruments have been analyzed and modeled through extensive research at IRCAM, the Paris based audio research centre full of a world-renowned audio boffins. Brass represents a parnership between IRCAM and Arturia. The riff library and keyboard is used to trigger patterns and variations, or you can use a MIDI controller to play each instrument directly. Real time controls such as a breath controller or other MIDI controllers can be used to great advantage with BRASS. Pricing expected to be between 2 and 300 Euros
