Roland's AIRA range has provided us with plenty of good stuff. Simultaneously drawing on the legacy of Roland synthesizer heritage and working with DSP tech its generated a whole bunch of comment.

Roland do appear to be heavilly commited to this new approach with some major firmware updates and a couple of new instrument models for both the System-1 and the TR-8 drum machine.

The MX-1 Mix performer brings it all together with a performance mixer. Allowing several ways of hooking up your AIRA gear - the MX-1 works as a USB host which means you can plug your AIRA units into it via USB and bring the Audio and MIDI in and out diectly - without the need for a computer host.

We had a visit from AIRA expert David Ahlund - he showed us what it had to offer. For full details and specs - there will be a fuller news item to follow.
