Purveyors of fine British Soundware Spitfire Audio were waving the flag at Musikmesse - company co-founder Christian Henson was on hand to give us a briefing on three new releases since NAMM in January.

They've been busy bees; first up was Swarm, an unlikely-sounding melding of "19 guitarists, a perfect blend based on a series of test sessions; charangos, mandolins, ukuleles..."

Recorded in the Hall at Air Studios, it probably doesn't sound like you'd imagine! ;-]
Worth checking out the teaser on their website.

Next up was Mural Ensembles, which as well as complementing the Mural series, also offers a toe-dunker into the Spitfire Symphonic Strings range as a whole.

And last but definitely not least was Evo Grid strings - Christian describes it as being designed to offer composers an innovative source of inspiration - the basis is long evolving string sounds; the interface is inspired by the EMS VCS3 'Putney' synth, with a peg-board grid as well as a randomiser function which together provide acccess some 33 trillion possibilities... that should be enough to get the creative  juices flowing!
