There's transient processors, and then there's Transient Designers, and also Polyphonic Transient Processing - that's what we're looking at today with Atomic Transient from Molecular Bytes.

Tosh from Wij Productions, looked at the Sonnox Oxford Envolution with it's twin-engined envelope and frequency based approach (see our review). Atomic Transient takes things to a whole new level. As well as three channels of frequency based dynamic transient shaping and filtering, it offers a polyphonic mode, which takes some of the  principles of Melodyne's DNA - extracting individual notes information out of audio files, and allows for processing of transients polyphonically, so each note can be treated separately.

Only a few years ago, in certain parts of the world, you would have been tried for witchcraft for this,  but clever new frequency and pitch analysis lets you do this  as it it were normal.

Atomic Transient comes as VST2, VST3 and Audio Units, there's also a standalone version for Windows users.
