Amazonian sexagenarian Grace Jones is to release her first studio album in nearly two decades this Fall.
Hurricane, her first collection of new material since 1989's Bulletproof Heart LP, will be released on October 27 on indie label Wall of Sound.

The 8 track album will feature contributions by long-time collaborators Sly and Robbie and Brian Eno. Also making guest appearances are Wally Badarou, Tricky, Barry Reynolds, John Justin, Martin Slattery, Philip Sheppard, Don-E and Tony Allen. The recording engineering is Cameron ‘Engine’ Craig. The album is co-produced by Jones and her partner Ivor Guest.

Jones released nine studio albums in the 1970s and 1980s, scoring hits with the albums Warm Leatherette and Nightclubbing produced by Alex Sadkin and Chris Blackwell. But she gained most noteriety with the Trevor Horn produced mid 80’s release, Slave To The Rhythm.

She recently performed extracts from the new album at Massive Attack’s Meltdown on London’s South Bank and will be appearing at the Secret Garden Party Festival in Huntingdon, UK later in the month.
