The much awaited collaboration between Roger Linn – father of the MPC, and Dave Smith, credited with the invention of MIDI, Prophet Five and many others has been put back. According to the LinnDrum II news page - "The good news is that it's turned into a significantly more powerful and creative product. The bad news is that we'd prefer not to release details of the new design because it's so cool that I don't want to show our cards to the competition" Visitors to this years Winter NAMM and MESSE will have spotted hardware prototypes of the unit:

And there was a previous look, when it was to be called the BoomChick - more Dave Smith flavoured:
BoomChick - prehistoric

Due to the new direction, plans for it to be released later this year have been put back an unspecified amount of time. Good things come to those who wait. (note, as Dave FAN said, the top image is NOT the current design, but the one before where they are now, if that makes sense)
