Sonic TALK 114
Firstly, apologies to those who were waiting on Weds at our usual recording time, but my flight back from LA was delayed by 24hrs, which meant I was actually in the air at the time of the scheduled show - these things happen. An engine fault apparently... But still, we managed to gather a team to discuss the just finished Winter NAMM show in sunny Anaheim - and it was sunny. This week Dave Spiers from GForce Software joins me after the launch of the new impOSCar 2 - thoroughly worth checking out btw, Rich Hilton from Nile Rodger's studio and Chic band-member and Emmy winning composer PJ Tracy from Minneapolis too. There is no script, we just talk about the highlights of the 2009 NAMM show in Anaheim CA. Ableton's Live 8 release gets a lot of props as does their collaboration with Akai for the APC40 controller. Native Instruments Maschine gets some of us excited, Spectrasonics steal the show again with some hot new updates - 2000 patches for Omnisphere, Trillian - the much awaited Trilogy update and RMX 1.7 with some crazy time and groove functions. There's too much to mention here, so go ahead and take a listen. I'd also like to extend a warm welcome our new show sponsors, Roland UK - thanks for your support. Remember... Join Us Live!
