We ran a story on this item before NAMM (thanks to ProSoundNewsEurope.com) which introduced the Black Box Recorder - a rather striking 24 channel 96kHz/24bit audio recorder designed for working in a live situation. Boot time of 10 seconds, simple, functional interface and good interfacing options give it the potential to be a pretty big product for the new company. As well as live recording, it may well look good to those who need multi-track audio playback for a live show too. The unit uses standard USB 2.0 external drives, recording in Broadcast WAV format (timestamped) and will be available April/May 2009 with further IO options coming along later.
