I won't get into the specs here, as you can find that out on the DSI website. I tried out the Evolver desktop a few months ago and just fell in love with the analog & digital oscillator combo with real analog filter and 4 sequencers, and when I played with the MEK at a music store I was completely sold. This is by far one of the most original sounding and user-friendly new synths made in the last few years. Personally I have found it creatively very useful and was able to create my own sounds with ease. In my opinion this synth is comfortable with anything from experimental sound design to maintream house/techno to IDM to hip hop to downtempo to soundtracks. Really. The entire interface and modulation capabilites have obviously been very well thought out, and there is even a firmware update already that adds a few more mod destinations. The build is excellent... wood panels & metal casing. For all that it is capable of, the price is very reasonable. Very impressive.
Comments About the Sounds:
