Craig writes:
The EPS 16+ is a powerful but finicky little bugger. The ability to edit on different levels is great. Each instrument consists of 1 to 8 layers (either key down, up, or both) with the ability to select different layers with the patch select buttons above the pitch bend wheel. Each layer can have up to 127 wavesamples in which each wavesample can have it's own env, filter, lfo, pitch, and amp settings. The effects are some of the best I've heard in any keyboard instrument. You can resample any of the wavesamples through the effects. A very cool trick is to take a wavesample and reverse playback while resampling through the reverb. Then, take the resample and reverse it for that creeping reverse reverb. If you can, get your hands on the Waveboy parallel effects, X-in effects (allows outside sounds to run through the internal effects by using the sample input), Res filter, and Voder effect disks. Also be aware that the EPS 16+ is limited on what removable SCSI HD's can be used (ie. no Zip disks here) as well as it's 2 Meg memory limitation. Still, it is used as my master controller (true polyphonic Aftertouch!) as well as a major source of sounds for all my songs.

(Thanks to Craig for this info.)
and Ruffin Waller for the pic
