Mike (coyote-1@rocketmail.com) writes:
The MK80 was designed to succeed the electromechanical Rhodes pianos. It also has some acoustic pianos, Clavs, and xylophones. All these emulations are usable, with the Rhodes being good. Considering that it was manufactured in 1989, it's not bad at all! I wish it had more polyphony because its pianos are more natural to my ears than some of the sampled pianos available today. The Rhodes sounds are also good, and the lack of velocity-switching keeps things natural. The Clav sound is decent, but located an octave too far to the left on the keyboard.

The action and feel are right-on though, and the weight of the MK80 (76lbs) means it feels VERY solid when you play it.

Comments About the Sounds:
Built-in tremolo, phasing, and chorus may be added to the stock sounds - which may also be edited a bit.

(Thanks to Mike for this info.)
