Finally, a modern synth/sampler/seq with knobs on, a respectable effects allotment and the ability to resample through effects in REALTIME. Plus, when auditioning the sounds they are dry, so no surprises when you go multitimbral. Take that Triton! This plus a full size VA is all you need. Key features: 1. Display is awesome. 2. 16mb sample RAM is FLASH (nonvolatile) 3. May sample from external signal (resample), input (typical sampling), or both at once. May sample from external input while sequencer running!!!(haven't seen that since ASR-10) 4. Touch sensitive pads 5. Drum kits only large enough to spread the 16 pads. No longer have to Oct +/- to get to all drum sounds. 6. Soundset synth based. Not a lot of wasted space with crappy acoustic emulations or new-age pads. Comments About the Sounds: Sound quality is excellent. Soundset for dance - great bass, synth, strings/pads, drums, noise sets. Not a Prophet VS so noises/pads only a 3, but good for a rompler. |
