It is actually a 4-operator FM home keyboard with 32 built in auto-accompaniments of which 16 are programmable. The drums and bass of the accompaniments are completely programmable and the chords are programmable in a monophonic rhythmic way. There are 27 built in solid drum samples, but unfortunately no hand clap. When you connect a reverb and chorus unit to the DSR-2000 it sounds pretty cool, but you have to turn it in the dual mode in which case it becomes only 4 notes polyphonic and the auto-accompaniments don't work anymore, except for the drums Sound are very easy to program because of the limited, but effective parameters and I don't know if it is compatible to a DX-21 or DX-11 but I found the DSR-2000 sound a lot warmer than the DXs

Comments About the Sounds:
It's an FM-synth but with the limited parameters it is very easy to program. Getting cool sounds is not difficult, but you must turn the DSR-2000 in the dual mode. In that case the auto-accompaniment doesn't work anymore and it is only 4 notes polyphonic.
