You can copy the pattern with the settings you want on it and the settings will be saved (same with the kits). Ex., copy USER 01 with the fx and instrument settings to USER 01. Same pattern, but now you have your settings saved.

i bought this thing as a song-writing tool and was very dissappointed. when you find settings you like on the machine, they can't be saved. what's worse, when playing your song, the pattern numbers are not displayed so you don't know where you are in the song, or what measure needs changing. For something to play around with and just improv. with, i guess it's pretty good. but as far as writing songs on it, i think it really sucks.

I'm dissappointed with the 202 because the volume output is so low, I need to crank my mixer up to the point where it gets noisy. I've tried everything I can to up the volume internally (there are instructions on how to do this), but it just won't budge. I've tried to do a factory pre-set re-boot, and the machine refuses. Having read all these posts, it looks like I'm stuck with it the way it is.

Warren Ockersz from Australia writes:
i think its a pretty kool little drum and bass centre.......however the punchiness and reall definition of pure analog would be lacking. I found the bass section pretty useless but a lot of the drum samples/kits are really kool. Its deffinatley got that jazzy/acoustic sound to it which would be great in conjunction with another pure analog drum module and the filter knobs are great, hours of fun just tweaking....However I found the LCD programming interface a total nightmare
