This thing is good, no damn crap like sensetive pads or stupid shit like that. Easy to go.

The built in patterns are shit, but when you make something your own you can make quite good beats

myspace.com/ckaudio I've owned the sp202 since it's release, I used it on house tracks and it's excellent for live gigs such as live FX: reggaeton air horns, flyby cars, flyby jets, and sirens. Recently however I have had a problem with the banks doubling up, as someone has already mentioned in this post. I believe that the cause of this problem is when a power pack that is above the recommended 200mA is used. I have used power packs that exceeded the 200mA on numerous occasions, and I think that it finally took it's toll. I cannot get it to reset (format) all of the banks, and my number 1 bank cannot be deleted. This is after years of being thrown around from gig to gig etc. Sometimes my banks cannot be heard and when pressed a low frequency tone can only be heard. I then have to delete the bank. I'm going to see if this problem can be fixed. If it can't be fixed I'll use it till it's last breathe. I stand by this great piece of gear. If you would like to contact me about info regarding this post, refer to myspace.com/ckaudio

I have used the BOSS DR-202 for five years. I never made anything worthwhile for the first two... but that is beside the point. It does everything I want it to. It is a tough little machine too. I came home and found it floating in water after my house flooded. I had a professional water-restorer dry it for me. It still works and has all of my 5 years work on it. The battery supply is a little sketchy post flood though. If anybody knows what software I need to back the MIDI info up onto the hard drive I would love to know. If I don't figure it out soon I will have to start from scratch, and put my double CD release back at least a couple of years.

ps:

if you open it up, put batteries in it, and tear the gold sheet from inside the back, you can circuit bend the living crap out of this thing. in addition, it's one of the rare bendable items with midi in and audio out (even if it's just rca out), so you can have a midi file slamming through it while you baffle the gear with your crafty bends.

for this, i give it a 4/5
