Wow...not quite what I expected. It sounds so incredibly cheesy, although that's quite a good thing. Love the tonal drums. It's just too overhyped. People make it out to be some sort of amazing do-anything machine, when all it really does is rhythm stuff and a bunch o cool tones. Nice size, nice sounds, too much hype.

wow. get this, i was at a pawn shop when i found this little keyboard. i really dont know too much about synths but i've been really getting into them lately. anyways while i was just browsing around i found it on a rack with a price tag of $9.99. i looked it over and saw just how many little features it has on it( portamento, vibrato, and the biggest, sampling) not to mention it was in terrific shape for being such an old keyboard. i had to at least check it out, so i talked the store into selling it for less..." i can do 8 dollars", cool. when i got back home i started to research this little monster and all i can say is wow, what a find for $8 bucks! i saw them on ebay from $70 to $100 on up! crazy! its so versatile and easy to use i feel i've already got a solid hang on it , even for stage use. i'm looking foward to the day i can really tear it up with my new sk-1.

I spent around 200.00(?) bucks for an SK-1back in the day.(sometime around 1986). I remember thinking it was so cool. I spent many hours with the SK-1. It's the original lo-fi monster. Pro-level sampling gear cost as much as a car at the time. SK-1 gets an 'A' for effort.
I still have my SK-1. I've thought about using it to create a tribute album to Casio. I give it a 5 for personal reasons, but really it's a "1". Don't buy one for more then 30 dollars. It's a novality toy. good fun, nothing more.

Don't know much about synths really. All I know is, I bought one of these little buggers brand new back in the mid-80's for 30, and it's been the single finest investment of my short life; the things lasted for years (still works now, kinda) and it's just really good fun to piss around with.
