what are you talking about. thats overstating just a tad and using unnaplicable verbs. there is no quantize for one thing , let alone RE-QUANTIZE!

James Blackbourn a hobbyist user from Canada writes:
must say, got the sk-1 a couples months ago, and i still play with it all the time, the thing is great, and if you know how to toy with it right, you can get some nice full sounds out of it, plus they're cheap enough that you can experiment with bending them all you want, i wouldn't dare let it go,it's small, but versatile. One question I'd like to know if anyone can answer me, is whether the sample becomes Gb or A, as no matter how in tune the defaults are, it seems to vary between sounds as to whether it goes in tune. email a7634@yahoo.com or GottaGitSumCrack@aol.com if you know, thanks

Trag a hobbyist user from us writes:
This nasty little thing begs to be played with. often in the middle of the night while everyone else is tring to sleep ;) you can get some GREAT lead sounds of it by sampling short things, try claps and snaps, and looping them. Turning your sk into a really simple single osc synth. The envelopes are almost useful for shaping your osc into something, but I like it for leads with the straight up on off organ style envelope.

5 out of 5 for being easy to use, functional, portable, and just plain fun.

i had two - but gave them to a friend when i moved house and his hyperactive son destroyed them both. arggh.

the sk1 is brilliant - it wants to be played. you can feed a constant signal in, loop it and envelope it to make a polysynth.

the tone is low-fi but very warm and useable even today.

especially good for sampling mellotron sounds!

I still have an SK-8 but am willing to sell it. if your kids promise not to rip it up...
