Dave Mosher a professional user from USA writes:
Well, life was a drag for about three years. A total slump. I was a nothing. Then, my friend (who I now call Jesus) showed me the holy instrument of GOD HIMSELF--THE Casio SK-1 <holy music plays> Every stroke... of the ivory cream keys lifted a soul deep within me... I was brought to the ULTIMATE heights of holiness! MY life changed from drag to the blessed with the instrument birthed from God--The SK-1 I ONLY wish that people realize that The SK-1 is a ressurected Jesus! Hear my words... bless this thy SK-1!!

Bob Parker a hobbyist user from USA writes:
I got my SK-1 at K-Mart for $30. I consider this only a notch or two above shoplifting. It is my favorite device for sitting on the couch and playing around with sounds and noises. I like to patch a radio into it and randomly sample bits of broadcast, then paly around and see what kind of interesting sound collages I can create. The Most fun I ever had with it was taking it to work when my job was at an early child development center (ages 14 months to 3- years-old). The little ones were awe-struck by it and I like to think that maybe I began one or two of them on the journey to becoming avante-garde noise artists. One of the coolest bits of technology ever encased in cheap plastic!

Jeremiah M Stanfill a part time user from USA writes:
It truely gets the credit for being the world's first cheap sampler. I kind of like the little preset envelopes. The sound that "Delbert Henhugger" describes after the little accident is probably not much more than how it sounded before... *hyulk hyulk!!* Get it for laffs, I went insane with it.

James a.k.a. DJ Craine a hobbyist user from Columbus, OH ...USA Representin da OH writes:
I like my little SK-1. I like Demo. I like Human Voice. Hell, I even like Synth Drums. I like the whole thing. I like it so much that even though ive had it for about a week ive already put it to use in part of my new project: a remix of the new Beastie Boys song Intergalactic. So if you ever hear a wierd remix of that song by a guy named DJ Craine listen for those synth drum sounds cause they sure as hell will be in there. Peace, James a.k.a. DJ Craine P.S. 5 out of 5 for its pure cheapness. Its not the greatest thing ever made, hell its not even a good thing ever made. Its just pure crap and fun. But sometimes crap like this is just priceless(as in you wuoldnt want to pay money for it, therefore it would have no price).

Keith Elliott a part time user from Dallas, Tx writes:
This was my very first keyboard ever. I saved my hard earned money from a paper route when I was 9 years old.

I fell instantly in love with this 2 somthing second sampler. At first it was just a toy. I would record a sample of

me asking for my friend on the phone then call em up and play it a little slower and lower and pitch and freak everyone out.

It was a great toy. Now, believe it or not, I still use it with all the gear I have accumulated over the years. I have found

that I get great use out of the SK-1 if I record a drum loop and then find the correct pitch that stays in tempo w/ my music. Adds

a certain amount of simplistic depth to my music. I would all in all this is a great keyboard. The keys are falling off of mine but

I put it through hell and back. If you get a chance....write a techno song w/ the DEMO....I did it...what a weird kick.............
