DMa a hobbyist user from Belgium writes:
It was also my first keyboard and I'd like to add two technical remarks to Zmaja's ones :

the SK1 has one audio output and a third sound generation source (harmonic synthesis).

The harmonic synthesis module can sound great with distortion (especially in solo mode).

This synth is also very good to make Lo-Fi loops, especially when you play octaves (drums patterns

can sound very cool).

I also use it to create techno bass sounds by connecting an electric guitar in the Mic jack.

This synth, because of it's ease of use can be very inspiring.

Indeed, if you like Hi-Fi realistic sounds, you will hate this synth, but if you like destroy sounds,

try to get one.

Ray a hobbyist user from USA writes:
The SK1 is a great instrument. What can I say, the sampler is absolutly amazing...a wondrous

feat of science. I recommend this keybpard to any musician trying to get that elusive

first record deal. With the SK1 in hand, YOU WILL conquer the world, YOU WILL win

a grammy, and YOU WILL be the next superstar. Buy this keyboard now, because it rules.

You can do so much with the SK1 and this is the only keyboard you will ever need.

Forget about any product from Roland, Akai, Clavia, EMU, instead, head on over to your nearest CASIO

(the world leader in keyboards) dealership and buy the SK1. You'll be a one man band. A virtuoso...

Tim Stoll a professional user from USA writes:
I am widely considered the best keyboardist in the world. Several polls done by magazines in europe have picked me as the most important man in music history.

My take on the SK-1 is this. I have mastered over 2,000 instruments during my lifetime, I have played more music than anyone has ever played, and I believe the SK-1 to be the ONLY instrument worth playing.

Complimenting the instrument of God ,

Tim Stoll

james green a hobbyist user from u.s.a. writes:
i bought my sk1 for $5.00 from a friend of one of my friends.

and it's the best keyboard i've ever had. the flute sound is pretty

good and if you plug your samples in direct from c.d. player or

a record player it sounds fat... and the porta mento is the best..

i recorded a tune playing the organ sound through an efx processor

and it sounds so smooth.. the best is to sample a song, then play the

sample melodically on the keyboard. it's definately a very under-rated

keyboard....

i was introduced to the SK-1 thru a friend of mine. i still have this instrument, covered with stickers and used almost daily. the drums are cheeee-zeeee kewl, the hihats are kraftwerkian jewels of sound. there are many cool things lurking under the surface on the SK-1. i've grown to love the little additive synthesis engine on the box, and enjoy mucking about with its internal sequencer. it's fun to do things like run the SK-1 into an unused channel on a big guitar amp, sample a splurt of distorted guitar plugged into the main channel of the guitar and instantaneously produce a doubly distorted rhythm guitar part that is as accurate as a sampler can be. a friend recently showed me a little trick you can do: with vibrato enabled, smash down a tonal/chord cluster while simultaneously _enabling_ portamento. if you get the timing right, the entire group of notes will start from highest or lowest possible frequency and slooooooooowly glide to their destination pitches. this synth is truly priceless. every one in the world should own one.
