Cheap yes, I got mine for $10 at a pawn shop. The sampler is low quality, it can sample up to 1.4 seconds. There are mic and line inputs for the sampler, with a auto record threshold. (Can't be silent static, ,ust be loud enough, so no vinyl static samples!) THe flute can be used for nice dreamy pads, trip hoppy, put it on porta with vibrato, and play the low registers. the piano is nice, for chord stabs, or single keys, portamento makes it trippy. The poly is: _4_ and audio does have an output. Has built in mic. And MINIMAL record functions

When I was about 7 my dad got me on of these for my birthday. I loved it,
and today, some years later im still useing it. In fact its sitting right in
front of me. I take it most ever were I can, becouse it so small and light
it all most fits in my pocket. Its relly is great, I to i've grown to love
the little additive synthesis engine on the box and the drums KICK ASS!!!!!

This was my first keyboard ever -- the only thing I played with on it was the sampler, and it's still the only thing I play with on it. I don't think the little bugger ever sounded anything near desirable.
On the lighter side, it's a great thing to have knocking around the house, and it's perfect for sampling a speak+spell. Oh yeah, if you want drums that sound like total crap, this one's for you.
I give it a 3/5 because its entertainment value renders it "god-like"

I had an Casio SK-1 once, or I had 2 of them. But I sold them and now I gone by one or two again. Casio SK-1 is a very fun and nice keyboard, even if the sampling isnt so good, but good enough to make music with, my oppinion. I used may SK-1 when I made my first music around 1987, it was fun to hear the sampled sounds together with the monophonic synth Jen SX-2300, and SK-1s rythm. Seeya
