Hey, try this: sample a VERY short noise with your SK (like a scisors speed closing) and then loop it. Then youll find that the sound is continous due to the shot lenght of the loop (thats always go from start to end of the sound). Then apply the envelopes and youll get a raw polyphonic synth sound with the true dinamics of the SK amp envelope. You can edit the sound with the additive engine for a more wide sound palette. The idea is use a single-cycle wave (or a nearly short wave) to generate, by looping, a continous synth sound thats responds to the whole amp envelope without end before complete the volume evolution. If you pass the sound throu an analog filter (I use my Teisco S60f) then you get an hybrid polysynth with digital DCOs and a VCF (kinda the stuff you can get out of a Korg DSS1) You can hook a BOSS OC2 octave pedal to create a kind of sub oscillator thats phats the sound. Try it and please be creative with that kind of machines that have a lot of power waiting to be discovered. Trust me, I still use it and I have a Prophecy, ASRX, SP1200, AN1X and S60f.

Better the anything I would buy for 100 bux new today!!WE SHOULD STAND TOGETHER to make the world ACKNOLEDGE the GODLINESS of the SK-1!!!!!!!

As a musical instrument, it is indeed crap, but as a tool for doing crude and interesting things to otherwise ordinary sounds, the SK-1 is pretty damn cool. As with anything else, you get more out of it the more you use the thing and learn/ discover its functions.
