this thing rocks for putting kick drums through to dirty 'em up and get 'em thumping, especially good for hip hop.

it can't really deal with anything but kicks i.e. no hi hats or cymbals

If you see one buy it! and sample you kicks on to it then from the casio on to your main sampler.

I got mine for 35!!!!!! bargain

I bought this while I was still at school and have kept it ever since, knowing it's a cool toy but not really realising its potential. The concept of cheap 'n' cheerful sampling is great but it's just like a voice memo machine, no real control over what it does etc. I use it for fun occasionally but the tempremental nature of the memory (bateries drain or run out and your samples are lost) means it's not practical to include it very often in real music making. If you cared you could input your sample through the line-in every time you changed the batteries, but it hardly seems worthwhile. Fun anyway, I won't sell it any time soon.

Ive got an SK1 and got my friend an SK5 for a gift. Man the KS5 rox the house. Where else cna you get a built in rock beat (with a bass drum that kicks ass)with a dog barking in it!? 4 samples are waay fun and a few nice FX too (sampling reversal, looping, about 6 or 7 different envelope shapes (allows you to get a nice delay effect ging on -super cool)) basically this thing has alot of possibilities and its all in an easy to use casio style box, great fun and usually cheap... if you see one, get it !!!!!trust me! ~Steve
