guess what i got this from a salvation army store for $4.99 ($5.21 wif tax) and it had some old batteries in it so i had to take it apart and clean em out. This is my first sampler as lame as that sounds but i have discovered it to be a great fun toy and it even gives those silly beatniks in the synth world cool bongos...so you can sample your heart out wif spoken word then beat it away muwhahaha..its another way to learn the basics of the waves it has for the bigger machines.. if anyone can tell me other stuff about this thanx

well i hear the reincarnation is the sk-60 which is great and super fun. to correct the above person who said the sk60 is about sixty or seventy bucks, i got mine new from a little music store for thiry bucks. maybe i got lucky i don't know. i feel blessed i picked it up though. it amused me and my friends during the trip in which i picked it up on. they regretted not picking one up themselves. check the space, funny, and weird voice sounds. if someone knows how to rig an audio out on this so i can record some of the sounds on this on to a four track and possibly sample i'd appreciate, if you can tell me how to do it i'd appreciate.

I got an Sk-5. It's been one of the funniest toys my family and friends grew up with. Heck if it wasn't for this li baby I probably wouldn't have astarted making music. If you get one at a garage sale and you don't know what a sampler is it will provide you with many hours of entertainment value. BTW. Casio has rereleased this beast. funny thing is, it's almost exactly the same as it was 10 years ago, except with a bigger price tag. Retail 69.50 US. It's called the SK-60. Has four pads with a total of 2.6 seconds sampling time. You can maker the 4 samples cycle through each other as you play the keys. Could be veryuseful to get random orchestrated sounds. Plus it actually looks cooler than the older SK models. I think an instrument like this is great for kids or teens just wanting to joke around...5/5 for fun value alone
