My Bit-One was free...Put it back together with 3 new CEM 3328s and a ****load of new discretes...
I love the sound, hate the interface. MIDI implimentation is total crapola; cuts off the keys when on.
I'd really love to keep this in my stack if I can find anyone who has a schematic (I know someone out there has one...!).

I think the bit01 is excellent. I bought one for 100 dollars 5 years ago. I don't think it's great for real sounds but it is very good for weird bass sounds (you have to know what you are doing). I recently got the "preload data tape" with all the original sound parameters, but they mostly sounded like ***. If your bit01 seems to be broken, I suggest changing the backup battery. Or use the bit01 as an ashtray, as my friends and I did the 2 first years after i brought the bit01 home. BTW, the bit01 is a nice keyboard controller, because it is touch sensitive and its midi functions seems to work good. Have a nice day, Fredrik

I've had the Bit One for about 4 years, and I've found it to be quite useful. Good for Basses, and percussive sounds. Most have lost the factory sounds, due to battery failure, replacing the battery will restore your ability to save sounds, but I've not found any info on how to reset to get the factory sounds back. I'm sure someone knows...

I bought a Bit One last Thursday for �100. It's great-much bigger sound than a Roland Juno 106 (how about that Unison mode!), except that the user interface is rather unwieldy. I need to replace the battery too-this doesn't appear to be too difficult, it appears to be a fairly standard 3v lithium. How about if one of you guys with the factory preset tape upload as a WAV or AIFF? Does anyone know if the MIDI upgrade included sysex dumping, and if so, is it possible to get it, or copy the EPROM? The existing MIDI is very poor-just note on/off velocity, program change, and Omni mode on/off. It's stuck on MIDI channel one, and does not recieve pitch bend, modulation or sustain pedal.

Yes there was a MIDI upgrade for the BIT ONE. I had it done about a month after buying it but at the time hadn't anything to try it with. It gave extra Addresses 62 to 65. When I eventually did get something - the Roland S330 the MIDI update was useless, it does nothing. Perhaps there something inside not turned on ?
