i play this synth since 1979 (although not all of the time) and must admit it's the Worst sounding synth i've ever owned!

it's impossible to tweak or tune perfectly, has sidenoises, on stage : a disaster'" it costed me 4 piezo tweeters" , plus the keyboard is nothing for a virtuoos due to it's plastic keys and single trigger.

compatibility:negative due to it's hz and negative trigger.

if you want bad, cheap, plastic carnival sounds :here you have them.

and maybe just for all this reasons it's an unique little beast and i will keep it!

Tim Gadd a hobbyist user from Australia writes:
Believe it or not, my first encounter with this synth was as a tinnitus masker.

I have really excruiating tinnitus, and when I visited a friend's studio in France, he stuck this thing on top of a fender twin reverb next to my bed and got it to play white noise to help me sleep :)

Anyway a year or two later I was back there and recording an acoustic guitar song, and I decided it needed something extra - a synth lead part. I noticed this little beast sitting on the floor in the studio, got him to hook it up, and within moments I was transported back to my Moog 12 days in the 70's. Virtually instantly I had exactly what I was looking for: it was that intuitive - and I was badly out of practice.

All I can say about this synth is that was a HOOT, and I'm happy it appears on one of my songs! I sat there fiddling with it, getting it to gurgle and carry on while Bob was doing the mixdown. Great for leads. Great fun, and looks fan-bloody-tastic. But pay nearly a grand for one...? I'm not quite that sentimental. Or rich. Or something.

Scott Kilpatrick a hobbyist user from california writes:
Just got one about 3 months ago and basically like it. Knob layout is intuitive and gives great sounds with fx, basses and leads (though some people dont think so with leads). External in is very cool for filtering anything, frequency to voltage tracker is not as useful as I thought. 1978 technology - it may track well with another synth but as for guitar - good luck - though it will give you crazy noise when your trying to play one note!! The patchbay - uh - completely non intutive and confusing - and as many online have suggested it is best used to interface other korg modules/synths. Though there are basic routings that can be made, based on the look the patchbay is not as useful as it may seem. Though hopefully years more of experimentation will open it up. Great filters. Great sound overall.

Fantastic machine...I play double bass with electronic group Gauche and I plug bass into it with A-B box...use oscillators to make sounds, double bass is used as "keyboard".

bengo a professional user from uk writes:
this is the only synth i have where i could put my hand on my heart and say that there is no way a virtual analogue could replicate it. the resonant high pass filter growls like the riff on da funk by daft punk, and although youre unlikely to use the patchbay for much more than switching a couple of envelope routings (unless youre playing around with multiple synths yummy) it looks bad. and i use the word bad in the michael jackson sense of the word/
