O My God, I just got my Prophecy today and i cant believe the stuff it can do, Im no expert on the subject but a lot of people get too anal when it comes to 'anal'ogue synths, i cant afford a large setup all i have is a roland MC-303 a yamaha DJX1 and my new found Prophecy and my oh my oh my has this thing expanded my little home studio all the way into another dimention, Monophonic - fair enuff that suits me down to the ground because i couldnt play a chord to save myself im into techno, hard house, Trance and well you know the drill..... I love my Prophecy i got it for a measly (as far as quality synths go anyway) 240 and i hope my kids will be pumpin out some quality choons when they are older on the old Prophecy because by then everyone will be getting anal about virtual 'anal'ogue synths :)

i owned a prophecy but later traded it for a s3200xl w/ cd-rom drive.the prophecy is pricey when it first relesed, but later reduced price i bought one.the bass sound is ok and the moog-emulation is reasonable, but for some 303 emulation doesn't come close.the best of it is the synth leads,u can morph between sounds on its mod wheel/ribbon roller,it's fun and smooth.but i always aware and saty away from the reen/horn solo, its quite dated i think.but we must face that the good leads on it is due to the deep effects inside it,switch off the effects u get only a dry and digital lead sound like any digital synth can make.honestly, the nord is better than this, even the knobs are not enough.

the omega factor a professional user from pitt pa writes:
I think most of hte electronic music community's producers are getting pretty damn lazy. I mean god forbid you might have to access some menus to do some kick ass editing on the proph. Oh my god! it's monofonik. now i have to sample it to get more that one sound out of it. like thats real hard. i mean who wants to actually work to make some awesome tracks. I hope to god most of you don't even try to make non-electronic music cause then you'd have to really work. Anyways this keyboard, a computer and a drum machine is all you will ever need (a mixer too). THe prophecy is an instrument that you can make your jupiter pad sounds with, your prodigy leads and phat acid lines. well what im getting to is that where vintage is cool but limited ( i used to have like 6 keyboards) the prophecy is unlimited, or as unlimited as your mind is I guess. I gives it 13 outta 5

That could be true, OR people are just posting to justify their selling of their prophecy... like giotto...

Make sure you hear both sides of the story before making a strong opinion of this synth. and btw, I've used a super bass station and know it can't sound this hard, this deep, or have this much diversity of sound. My friend also has a cs2x and it takes 4 layers to even sound half as big, and no edge either.

Henry a hobbyist user from USA! writes:
This synth is great. I have noticed the problems with the ROM version but I use a computer and other arppeggiators to fill in the blanks. With a computer it is a lot simpler to edit and create sounds on the proph. It also fills in for my industrial moog bass and crazy leads quite nicely. This synth has inspired me to look for a real analouge though, I need something more raw. But for the price, this thing can't be beat.
