Matt Smith a professional user from England writes:
This little synthesizer has a massive sound!! There is alot of scope for creating virtually any sound imaginable. This has been dubbed "The Minimoog of the 90's", I tend to agree. Marvellous!

I owned my prophecy for about 3 months and all I can say is that this synth is only for those that really have the time to sit down and get to know it inside out. Its not an easy machine to programme at all. Although some of the preset sounds are awesome the rest were shocking (one sounded like a cross between a cat and scream which was funny but not too usefull. The place where the prophecy becomes awesome is in the performace. The amount of control you have is unreal (although it makes you wish you had 4 hands at times).

If youre somebody with a real deep understanding of synthesis or you just have the time to root round menus to build your sounds then give it a go. Id have loved to have had the time to put the hours in and get to know this machine properly.

Domenic a hobbyist user from USA writes:
I've had mine for a year now. Absolutely love it. It's so fun to play. Realtime controls are great. Excellent basses and leads. It's incredible what sounds can come out of this synth. And it's only monophonic. Somtimes I wish I could play chords on this thing, but oh well, you can't have everything. This synth is capable of playing any sound that you can think of. I'm thinking about getting an editor for it, because programming the Prophecy can really unleash the power of it. By the way, the Prophecy also makes a good midi controller.

John Ashford a part-time user from Australia writes:
I owned a Prophecy when they were released in Australia in 1995: the little thing had life! I had been to a Korg demo evening, and the guy just ran riot with it - it was all over anything else at the time. I agree with all the reviewers who praise the fat sounds. If you are capable of playing neat lead runs, the Prophecy has the harmonics to sound as if you're chording anyway. It's bass sets have never been bettered either. The guitar presets can easily be modified, but they are already incredibly dirty, with lots of feedback squeal when you use the modulation. It had a nice key action as well, which encouraged fast licks. Mine was stolen from amongst a suite of keyboards, so the thief had taste, (and it probably looked so good besides). If I ever come across another, and if the keys are still OK, I'll get it. I've used plenty of hard and soft synths since, but miss my Prophecy a lot.
