This thing really sucks bigtime!!!! what the hell was Korg thinking? The sounds are really abrasive and disturbing. I played with this toy for 10 days at my home studio and found it annoying and useless. Had the ER-1 also and at least that one could come up with some rock-ass beats although tinny and plastic sounding as hell. I took 'em both back and was glad to get rid of 'em. Thank God for return policies. IMHO these electribes are made for kids who want to irritate their parents. For music--well---you've got to be kidding---there is very little of anything that sounds like music coming out of them. I give it a one out of five because it looks pretty cool---just don't turn it on --you may be sorry.

I use song mode sometimes (when I am not using a PC) and on song mode, you can record as many knobs as you want. hey, M-C-Love, sometimes I fake slow attack with either reverse envelope or motion sequence the filter or level knob. It works pretty well.

PAUL - the Electribe-A *DOES* transmit all those buttons and knobs over MIDI. It has excellent midi implementation! I use cakewalk, because you can get as many knob movements recorded as you like, as opposed to the single-knob limit you get with the onboard sequencer. -- The only big thing that's missing from the EA-1 is ENVELOPE/ADSR CONTROL! I know you can fake a slow attack with the filter, but it's not the same, AT ALL. *I love this machine*.
