I too returned my EA-1 ater a couple of weeks. After the novelty factor begins to wear off the units limitations and lack of features begin to show.I have heard people compare this to the Prophecy(saying it has same synth engine and features etc) but it is nothing like one,I know as I own a Prophecy myself. The only thing an EA-1 and a Propcecy have in common is the name "KORG". If you want Prophecy sounds buy a seconhand one as they are going for reasonable prices now.

polyecho a hobbyist user from USA writes:
Most people think of what EA-1 doesn't have but TB-303 does as shortcomings. Ea-1 is obviously designed to do way more than just an okay TB-303. If EA-1 had accent and slide, it will be limited to behave sort of like a TB-303. That's why it has "Motion Sequence" to record one knob in a pattern. (play legato for slide, record EG knob for accent and BTW TB-303 is not velocity sensitive) Let's not forget that you can't record knob movement on TB-303. With this motion control, EA-1 will behave the way you want it to, not just like a TB-303. As other people said before, if you want a TB-303 or a more expensive VA with more features, it's best just to get one.
