I love this little box!!!! This thing is great for really weird percussion. I hardly ever use it for standard drum sounds, more for like odd sounds. I really like it for ambient/experimental stuff too. Creates nice non-aggro sounds as well as some aggro sounds as well. I also really like it to make nasty sounding snares, almost like a white noise hit. It's also fun as hell. Only complaint: no res filter, but I can just run it into my EA-1 to use some filtering.

those of you who are interested in Electribes of both flavours:

I'm still waiting to get my EA-1 to complete the match made in heaven (anybody like to use 'em both @ once, or is it too predictable?)

The ER is my faithfull sidekick, all the way. Daniel has got it right here, my girlfriend hates this box because it end up spending more late nights tweaking it rather than her...I honestly don't think that you will be disappointed by this thing if you try to use it. It does lend itself to brainless 4 on the floor house if you aren't careful, but the thing that has really amazed me is the drum/bass and jungle that I built on this little thing. At first, i thought it was going to be a bigbeat box, pretty much, but the complexity of breakbeats you can make (with time and patience) are fantastic. Real slow, phat, caveman hip hop can be done, as well. It's how you apply yourself to it. Try it out b4 you buy, if you must, but if you think you want it, it must be a sure thing.

I've used to to remix both Goldie and Aphex Twin's "Acrid Avid Jam Shred", a pretty big musical difference. Yet the electribe holds it's own, it's fun to bring in a backpack when you travel, i mean, it's enough to hold your interest w/out feeling like you don't have enough to do w/soundz.

So my buddy let me borrow this, we traded for the weekend..i got his Er-1, and he got my 770..

best source of analogue drums i've seen or heard. Kicks and snares sound very VA/analogue to me. Nice gabber kick when the low boost is turned way up..crazy EFX and noises....AWESOME sequencer, as it is styled XoX..I jus played in bunch of some people..synced it up to a CD, and used the tap..fun fun fun! I also ran my Virus thru the Audio ins, and it can give that awesome slicing effect..great for those crazy trance trax..I did get kind of bored with the sounds quickly though, as they are a bit limiting..the variety of kicks you can get are nice, but i dont like the snare..somewhere in between a high tom, and an 808 type snare..i got a nice fuzzy ticky snare, and thats about it..weird EFX are its strongest point like i said, and that makes it very analogue sounding..yippee..but i want my 770 back...

There is only one kit friend, but it's completely tweakable though.. Hope that helps, atleast a little.

Great little machine great for dubs and space reggae.
