Just a word about the polysix. I bought one in the USA 5 years ago, and even at this time, it is still my little baby. Much better sound quality than the Juno 60, easy to use, this machine is able to create the thick old analogic sound, we could hear in the 80s. Of course, it is outdated now, but I still use it when I have to play for a party, or just, in my own home studio.

Cramar a professional user from USA. writes:
Message for Tim. The polysix is a great synth in every way. It is miles better than a Jp4 and is much more portable. It is totally different to an MS20 so I don't really know what to say. The sounds are thick and very similar to a prophet5. The MS is a baby modular and very versatile. If you said an MS vs an Arp Odyssey, it would be easier to judge and advise. 6 note poly vs 1 may be impotant to you. The Polysix is much more of a performance synth and has an arpeggiator, memories and chord tracking. Also, lush effects. For squidge and bass, go with the MS. For everything else pick the rocking Polysix.

A great synth for little cash. Miles better in every way than the 106, bass, lead, features, everything. True vcos and a great filter. Love the chord tracking. Great for dance music. It looks the biz as well. It sounds wonderfully warm. Thr arpeggiator is too much fun! Message to Dorothys bag. Your battery has leaked and the synth is dying. Go and but yourself another Roland.

Hrvoje Niksic a part-time user from Croatia writes:
Great polyphonic synth.I love it better than his oponent of the time Juno 60.That SSM filter circuits are great and very Moogish.Very varm sound.Exelent for brass, strings (Ok maybe Juno 60 is better for strings)... Because of filter that loves to self oscilate it is good for all kinds of weard atmospheric pads. Only bad thing on Polysix is that blue Varta Ni-Cd battery that was not meant to last more than fifteen years.I havent seen a broken polysix that battery was not the problem. It loves to leak on main circuit borad. The acid eats lines on electronic board or put them in short circuit and your polysix stards to act like mad.If you have problems like going out of tune or strange modulation is present or led diodes are on without a reason then in 99% you have problem with battery leakage. Recomendation is to clean the board and to repair lines that are broken (maybe you will have to unsolve ICs that acid went beneath) and unsolve old battery before it leaks and to put new 3.6V Ni-Cd aside from the main board on a special board and connect it with wires to its place. Then you can sleep without worry.

Keith Middlemass a hobbyist user from Hawick, Scotland writes:
Got my Polysix for 140 and required an internal battery for the memories. Fixed in no time. Now I know why Vangelis used Korgs. This sizer has to be one of the best sounding I've heard. You would think its got 12 VCO's instead of a mere 6. Slots in nicely with the JP6 and Moog Source. A classic if ever there was one. Might not have an endless feature spec but this sizer is timeless. Limited only by ones imagination. Sorry anoraks....
