this synth is a fatboy cutoff and resonance are great (fwieeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuwwwwwwwww sound)and bass pads like the intro bass sound of SLAMS lifetime great i like it

just because it's not loaded with features doesn't make it a bad synth. Of course it's a cliche now but it's really not what you use it's what you do with it. The Polysix is capable of some really good sounds, despite the fact that it's only a basic synth. Sure there are more fully-featured synths out there but you're going to have to pay a lot more for them. Personally I prefer the stuff that has a lot of features too but that doesn't mean the synths that don't have bandpass filters, etc. are bad.

agree.i owned one around 1988...it sounds fair but not thick or fat enough compared w/ roland or american analog synths.maybe its the character of korg.i'd prefer korg ms10/20/50 or ps3x00 series,more raw and more programmability.

I don't understand why everybody around here are so crazy about this machine!! Well, its sound really nice, I must admit that, and that, of course, is what matters the most. However, it is far too limitied when it comes to programming, IMHO: No choice of LFO waveform!! Only one Envelope Generator for the VCF and VCA to share!! No portamento!! No high-pass or band-pass filters!! These parameters are standard stuff on most other synths ...

I just bought the polysix in perfect condition, other than some dirty connections on the keyboard, for $50 from a pawn shop!!!! I have been doing my research on it and am going to quickly change the battery...but other than that this synth is awesome! I have an older synth borrowed from a friend(a Univox K-3 maxi-korg) and the polysix is an amazing step up as far as actual music revalence is concerned.
