Patrick D. Rosenbalm a professional user from TN, USA writes:
I had one of these things once about ten years ago. I traded a Nintendo game for it, repaired it (leaking nicad ate some traces) and sold it for $300 a year later. Anyway, The Poly 6 will make some great 80ish sounds as it came out in 1982 for $1995.00. I friend of mine back then bought one for that as soon as it "came off the boat". The up side is it's a pretty fat synth and the effects help it alot. The emsemble setting really made the strings sweet and I like the phaser setting too.

On the down side the memory button's switches on the pc board oxidize and skip, the keyboard has rubber spacers that keep the keys from wiggling back and forth that wear out along with the rubber contacts under the keys. If a Poly 6 hasn't been abused or played to death the keyboard should be fine. I don't know if Korg still sells replacement keyboard parts as I have not worked on a Poly 6 (worked on total of six) or 61 (worked on three) in about six years.

Repairing and cleaning the keyboard and switches isn't too hard. Contact cleaner will help the switches but the keyboard takes a little more time. If your have a keyboard problem you can email me and I'll try to help.

I inherited my Korg Polysix from my stepdad and what I did with the sound was somewhat AWESOME!! Icould make my own sounds and Sound Effects and used it in a school talent show(sounded like a full choir) This synth is cool minus the fact that I don't have an instruction manual.

Ahr'en Ohm a hobbyist user from Usa writes:
It's got good control on the modulations, the arpeggiator is the bonus factor to it's coolness. You can store the sound that you come up with (4 X 8 banks). It's got six LFo's that can only increase the zone. You can put it in a mono state, to combine all the LFoooo... 's. Nice keyboard and made out of wood and metal that's the material I like. Don't forget the pitch bend and modulation wheels, by the way just want to say it one more time LF0ooo...

I LOVE this Polysix. I found it at a pawn shop for $300 cdn! Im still coming up with freaky new sounds and my banks are almost all full. I would, however like a copy of the manual to allow me to know this old synth like the back of my hand. Can anyone help me?
