For anyone just getting started I think the korg Triton is a must have! Tight strings, Tight piano's, mad drum sounds, and mad sound effects. I have only been using it 4 months but I have been able to make professional sounding hits. I cant even play the piano but the arpegiator makes it sound like I can. I dont think you can beat it for the money. If something ever happened to it . . .I would get another one!

I recently purchased a Triton Pro X for $3100 from a small local dealer who's been in business forever (list $4160). He told me to take it home for a week and try it out first. I kept it. I'm still trying to learn how to use all the features and am taking longer than I thought. I really love using it and have used it in live solo performances about six times already. I was in the top 1% of my class in school and I am having much difficulty understanding the manuals. I find myself going around in circles and never getting anywhere but I am determined to master the beast. As far of the capabilities of it, I am extremely impressed with all I've learned so far. I did order a hard travel case made for it which was a very wise move. I think the sounds are great! I've learned in the last few weeks how to use the internal sequencer to some extent and have created ten songs already that keep improving as I learn more what I'm doing. I am very excited about continuing to master this. It does state in the manual that it takes 400 to 1,000 hours to master it so plan on sinking your teeth into it! I love it! I will grow with it. Good luck to you!

I had this board for about 4 months now..it absolutely rocks. As someone in here said..what comes out of the slver beast depends on the user and not the board! listen to what I came up with ..all that you hear is done on the Triton: http://www.mp3.com/jkz peace. JK.

Hi,I have the Studio Essentials and Pianos/Vintage synths exp. boards in my Triton pro and I get some pretty useful piano sounds out of them but nothing to write home about. But I had an Ensoniq ZR-76 before my Triton and I gotta say that board had the best sounding piano I ever had! They come stock with the built in William Corkley Pianos exp. board already installed and thats were the good piano sounds are at.Also its a 76 key piano weighted keysworkstation.Check one out if you can...
