Triton rocks, no regrets in purchasing it over the xp series!

The Triton delivers for the creator who is looking for diversity as well as a specific genre. Like the Roland expansions, korg implements its PCM boards into customizing the Triton to the User design. With Loads of sounds and Sampling capabilities this board can be used for anything. The sounds are awesome, noah:)

i have a triton..and it does what i always wanted. sample-sequence-fat expansions-multi fx-and song creation from start 2 end.. 9times out of ten i see that people who bash models think that it will make you sound like your favourite artist..simply put ...you have to learn to put your idea to sonic creation. i could and did do it on my asr-x that was the first kit that fit these needs..but if you did not have good timing in you it was a bitch (and i did) so now when i hear people say the triton is only this or that ..i know you have a long way to go..you don't have "spooky electrick ghost" you could have a 250,000.00 studio and not feel the "way" . don't blame the cross if you don't have faith .. use your soul like you are meant to.. . n o v e m

Every piece of shit R&B band has one of these. Destiny Child, Lil Bow Wow (lol) , Brittney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, etc... Thank God not one band that I like owns one. The moment I see Skinny Puppy (well only if they got together again) walk out on stage playing a Triton is the day I sell my entire Skinny Puppy catalogue. Tritons are only good for squeaky clean pop stars who like squeaky clean sounds. Look around you , every and I MEAN EVERY squeaky clean band has one. Even that stupid squeaky clean band Korn and gross Sugar Ray. If you are a squeaky clean band then you MUST get a squeaky clean Triton ....infact get 2 of them , then you will extra squeaky !

It depends on what you're really trying to accomplish. I'm sure in live perfomance, a whole slew of keyboard synths will do.
It's in the recording studio environment that Korg Triton really shines. The effects are studio quality (especially the compression and the exciter effects.) The sounds are incredibly rich, and not only that, dynamically you can go from very soft to very loud playing without unwanted artifacts (like only two dynamic ranges instead of five to seven, like the Korg Triton offers.) That really helps those used to playing acoustic pianos who want an extremely responsive sound to their playing.
Although the board touts 16-bit resolution, the onboard converter is first rate. It's non-jitter resolution sounds better than many 24-bit converters currently flooding the market.
Although the Emu Proteus 2000 has more as so far as sheer engine power, the Korg has it hands down as so far as sound quality. So its the age old question: is sound quality more important, or the quantity of multitimbrality and polyphony? To the professional recording engineer, sound quality is number one - always has been, and (hopefully) always will be.
