Saved up for fuckin time to buy this little monster and overall i am still unsure about it. Firstly the drum sounds are superb but there are too many and this gets on your tits after a while.The Bass sounds are quite good but there all too prodigy like you wont find deep sh 101 like sounds on here which can be good and bad. The pads are excellent and are the effect sounds but the plucked sounds are fuckin dreadful,use these sounds and you are treading on erasure territory. Looking back i should have saved up more and got a Virus or A Z1 but it will do

Found out that is WAS great base to begin but grew out of it... fat basses, warm leads, fine percs. Sold it to make room for a4000 and new Virus B. Sirius still kicks through sampler though. ;)

Once you know how to work this machine, the Sirius can give you some powerful leads and bass in your music.
The presets can be HEAVILY modified to completely new sounds, and stored in the user bank without ever losing the original sounds. The Vocoder is really only designed to vocode the drums, not human voices. I have walked in to tons of record studios and seen the Sirius sitting in with other analog and VA synths. Anyone who says this synth is a toy, is clueless in the recording industry.
This synth is an expanded Raveolution 309, but with three synth engines instead of one. Midi Channels 1 - 4 are for drums, and channels 5 - 7 are synths..similar to the Nord Lead. The thing that really seperates this synth from any other is the Wave Macro feature, which layers additional sounds on top of the sound you are working on via the OSC. You can layer Mini Moogs, TB, or over one hundred other sounds. The LFO has great control [up to four measures, not as extensive as the JP8000, but close].
Overall, this synth has power. The reason why I like this synth (and why I consider it in the same league as the Nord and JP 8000) is all the parameters are layed out in front of you via knobs, just waiting to be turned! Synths like the Virus, Q, XTk, all have extensive menu pages to flip through and that is annoying as hell! This is just my personal pref, but there is nothing that compares to instant control. BTW, tha manual is excellent and the Overblast knob pushes BASS TO NEW HEIGHTS!

Granted the synth part of the Sirius takes alot of time to get right,but the drums are what sets this baby off. If your looking for a complete drum-computer that dosen't sound like all the rest, this is your beast. I look at the synth and vocoder as a welcome bonus! If bass is your thing(dj majic mike, beat-dominator,etc.) then you won't be dissapointed.

The Sirius has a lot of great sounds and there is a built in random sound generator so that, with some luck, you can create even more great sounds and tweak them with the array of knobs above the keyboard. If you create trance or techno, this is one of the synths you should get. For those people who say "Blah blah blah, my XXX synth by YYY manufacturer beats this piece of crap, blah blah blah..." to them I say if you really want to create a full-bodied production, you'll want to use more than just one measly synth. NO ONE SYNTH IS GOD, not the Virus, not the Supernova, not any Moog! The ideal situation is to own one of all of these and make some music with all of them.
All synths have good and bad things about them. Nuff said.
To this end, the Sirius has some great trance sounds. It's drum kits are good if you need tweakable electronic drum sounds. The Roland imitations in the Sirius do not sound like the real thing, but THAT'S OKAY. You can tweak them and make them sound better than the real thing.
For Godsake, Kraftwerk endorses this thing! You're going to go against their word? HAH!
