Max a part-time user from berlin writes:
i once owned a D50 and sold it, it consumed too much space in my limited studio. I think, the programmer is a must. Now I will hopefully purchase a D550 rack version. In my opinion, it is a unique synth. I have also a lot of other gear, but this unit sounds differently to anything else. Probably the warmest digital synth out there. I have a JD-800, a totally different machine! Good in its way. Another fantastic synth is Absynth, covering perhaps the same area of sounds like the D50, big at pads. The D50 patches in the JV-2080 are ridiculous. I have the vintage card, a D50 doesn't sound like a D50, a Juno 6 not like a Juno 6. What did they think when they put in these sounds?

Anyway, you should check out this synth. It will not be the central peace of your studio, but a nice addition, a "secret weapon". Sound is so different from plastic soft synthesizers.

Marcus a professional user from Sweden writes:
Well well... a wet dream from my early ears, finally in my possesion! Ever since I first heard the D-50 I have always wanted one and now it is mine! Bought it for a mere 200 bucks and it was nearly mint condition. All knobs and buttons worked perfectly! Sounds are nothing short of excellent! Presets are OK apart from a few downers but the D-50 really shows its power when being programmed.

Fat rich pads out of this world that puts many of todays monstermachines to shame. You can really do stuff unlike anthing you´ve ever heard before! And it´s darn sexy to boot! Sleek, black, slimmed yet sturdy and (cliche) built as a tank!

I will NEVER get rid of this one! NEVER!

Forget the "real" sounds. This is analog heaven!!!
