this mashine was the first wondermashine on the market, it had the most astonishing sounds by that time.every dx went pale.nowadays its to cheap so you have to buy it. a big con is the easyly malfunctioning keyboard(dust under the keys)even a pcmupdate was possible .without the speedsystem it is to slow in response.

I couldn't agree more. The D-50 still rules. Even though you have wonderful softsynths now ! (Try Sim Synth !) But still... The D50 keeps combining that digital sound with the analog sound. And that makes it unique. I you're searching for an editor for the D50, look here: www.d50ve.w3.to The D-50 Virtual Editor tries to make programming the D-50 a bit easier, since you don't have to deal with that small screen, plus, you can still keep the feel of the D-50 when you're programming, because it has the same interface.

For those of you with Sounddiver, I put up a collection of my patches: http://tilt.largo.fl.us/d-50.zip
This helps you get out of D-50 preset hell if you need to. :) (Although this bank contains several of what I feel are the most useful D-50 presets and card patches...)

I just got my D-50, its in a very good condition, even thought I just repair it for some minor mulfuntion that cost me alot! I love teh sound and portamento features, I think the aftertouch is not too sensitife, couse I really have to push real hard to get the result, its not efective (may be its just my unit) I wonder, I want the factory presets for the D-50 in exclusive format ( .EXL) so I could bulk load it from my KORG MIDI Data Filer. please help! email me!

I think the PG300 was for the Alpha Juno series series, JU-1 and JU-2 and also the rack-mount MKS-50. The PG800 was for the JX8p/MKS-70/JX-10, the PG10 was for the D10/D20/D110 and the PG200 was for the JX3p, MKS-30 and the GR700. The D50/D550 were ground-breaking in 1987 but all of the waves were in ROM including the saw/sine waves. All in all, one of Roland's shining moments had it not been for the Korg M1 released in 1988.
