This is what I call a synthesizer. Why don�t they (the roland fools) make a model called MKS-850 with 8 MKS-50�s built in ? Or a Juno 82 ?

Excellent basic Juno type architecture analogish box. I bought mine in the
late 80s for around $200 brand new (discontinued), an excellent value. The filters are a weakness-they don't resonate properly. But that was
a Roland lameness for several years in the early digital era. Sounds are
a little thin but that can be used to advantage. Use the Oberheim for
the fat pads.

i got mine from a friend of mine, kieth strauss. i run it on an atari 1040e i picked up at the goodwill thrift store for fifteen bucks. my buddy tom jourgenson has an atari also and had real boss old patch editor program called mks-50editor tone and patch utility by someone named k.miere. tom got the program when he got his atari as a hand me down. the editor shows all the paramaters and such and you can change them with the mouse but not realtime.it also shows the curve of the envolope and lets you change the wave graphically by dragging and clicking. the lithium battery died so i replaced it but lost all user patches. some just disappeared others are just garbled characterson the screen and some crazy dark and skronkin'noises.i would be willing to copy the program provided i'm not breaking any copyrights. i don't see any copyrights any where on it.i like this box a lot but it stinks that it isn't multitimbral. or is it? i don't think so but i don't have a manualfor this thing. which brings me to how i found this spot. i would love to get me hands on one. if you can help e-mail me at elsbreeb@msn.email.com i would love to maybe trade a copy of the editor and any other atari programs i have for a copy of the manual. i have a few programs midi sequence and other music applications.

I have two MKS-50's in my guitar synth setup. The fat Digital/Analog sound is the best for layering with crunch guitar tone for a sound that is definitly over the top.
With the optional PG-300 programming is almost too easy.
